Sardinia in a few words could be :

Sensational creeps

Beautiful underwater wildlife

Shades of blue more beautiful than in your dreams

Aridity

It’s a family holiday : my parents, my little sister, Nico and I.

Departure from Girona, flying over to Olbia in Northern Sardinia (with the airline Ryanair), while mom has booked our accommodation ... quite in the South of Sardinia !

On the way to the little house we booked, the landscape was flat, and VERY arid with many small fires. The "center" of the island did not charm us at all. The island is wide, so rent a car and plan your trip before to enjoy the most of it.

And after 4 hours driving from the airport, we discover the house much ... "traditional" I should say :)

ACCOMODATION

Welcome to Villa Sant'Elmo !

The owner is very nice, speaks French well with a superb italian accent, and is not overbearing but very helpful. The decoration is very old, but gives a real holidays atmosphere ... You can even smell the salted breeze.

The house is supposedly a step away from a beach !!!

From the first glimpses of the sun, we all escape on the beach in pajamas, too frustrated not to have seen it when we arrived at night the day before. And what a beautiful surprise!

It takes only a minute to access it, the access is all cute and the result is beautiful.

TO VISIT

Cagliari Town

The city is very pretty, with a beautiful port, pretty boats, pretty alleys full of colorful pennants ... Even in October, it still breathes summer here!

I must warn you, as in Italy it seems, you pay an extra for the cover. In Sardinia it was a surcharge of about 2 € each.

Spiaggia di Genn'e Mari

Spiaggia di Carla Burroni

Punta Plentis creep

Spiaggia di Porto Giunco

Giants Tomb

If only we had known on what journey we embarked! It was like staying in a car at least 3 hours, the tomb was lost in the green Sardinia ‘s No-Mans-Land (very nice landscapes by the way), and luckily I had an eye because passed it at full speed, as if we were chased by elephants.

Giants Tomb, contrary to what you could imagine, is very small! I could have been disappointed, to go so far to see so little ... but as a big fan of Tomb Raider I spent my time trying to discover a secret passage by pushing a stone ^^ A dream almost came true !

Alghero Town

The city overlooks the sea, it is beautiful and the light is warm. It reminds me of a charming mixture between Collioure and Banyuls (South of France).

Everyone loves it, and I remember the feeling of well-being that this city has given me.

We drank a coffee on a terrace, facing the sea, we walked to the market (Mom offered me a nice hat) and Cassandra felt as a paparazzi and Nicolas for a Diva ...

The multicolored city of Bosa

Orosei Bay (Cala Goloritze & Cala Gonone)

Cala Luna

According to the website www.sardaigne-italie.fr/visites-sardaigne, "the site of Cala Luna isn’t accessible by car. And for the courageous ones, bathing is only possible at the price of 3 hours of walking by the Gorge of Codula di Luna. You could also access the Cala Luna with boat trips that will drop you off for a few hours on the shore of Cala Luna."

You will find more beautiful places to discover here, such as the Maddalena archipelago, Castelsardo medieval town, Capo Testa or Tharros archaeological site.

RESTAURANT / ICE-CREAM

We did not experience many, but I absolutely must advise you about one : Da Donato, who makes wonderful ice creams (as you will see below), and very nice pizzas as I remember.
